Flower and scenery photography
A basic guideline of a good landscape photography is to have some foreground interest to lead the eye into the scene. Flowers are great for this.A wide angle lens exaggerates perspective, so that flowers in front appear prominent. Enhance this even more by getting down low to the flower's level. Check out how low a tripod can go when choosing one. The difference in contrast between the sky and the foreground poses problems for your camera. Exposing for the foreground will give a washed out white sky. Metering the exposure for the sky will leave the foreground black. Taking multiple exposures and combining them on computer can solve this, but it's always better to get as much right in camera as possible. We want less time in front of a computer screen and more time outside with our camera, right? Therefore the best option is a neutral density graduated filter to darken the sky and balance out the contrast. It's the most valuable filter in a landscape photographer's kit bag. A close second to the nd grad filter is the circular polarizer filter. For enhancing blue skies and boosting colors. It's effects cannot be replicated in software.
